Beginning October 1, VISD is transitioning to STOPit Solutions for anonymous reporting. STOPit Solutions is a tool designed to deter and promptly address instances of bullying, school violence, self-harm, and inappropriate behaviors. With the STOPit App (or via its web portal), users can anonymously submit tips, attach photo/video evidence, and privately message school administration with the necessary information to help all parties involved.
How to Report a Concern
With STOPit, users can submit anonymous reports containing text, photos, or videos. Administrators are able to manage incidents on the backend, including the ability to message with the reporter if need be. There are two ways to access STOPit to make an anonymous report:
STOPit App
- Download the STOPit app from the App Store or Google Pay
- Search for Vashon
- Select the appropriate school building
- Make your anonymous report
Web-based Reporting
- Visit your student's building's website.
- Click on the STOPit icon on the front page
- Make your anonymous report
Please note: STOPit is not an emergency response service. If you believe your report requires immediate police, fire, or paramedic response, please dial 911.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Is STOPit truly anonymous?
Yes. There is no way for school administrators to know the identity of the submitter of a report or message without the submitter voluntarily providing identifying information in the content of their report or message.
-
Who receives the reports submitted via STOPit?
Reports and messages are received by building administrators. Please note: There should not be an expectation that reports and messages will be attended to in a timely manner during times school is out of session, such as Winter Break or during the summer.
-
What information is needed to make a report?
The more information and specifics included in the report, the easier it will be for a building administrator to properly, quickly, and thoroughly follow up on incidents or submitted reports.
