June 10 - Class of 2023 Commencement Ceremony
6:00-8:00 pm
GRADUATES need to arrive at the gym by 5pm with cap, gown & stole. No high heels allowed on the field!
Graduation will be held outdoors in the Football Stadium, rain or shine and there are no guest limits/tickets this year. In the unlikely event that we have to move the ceremony indoors, each graduate will be limited to six guests. Unfortunately, we won’t know the weather until the day before, but in the past 9 years, we’ve only moved indoors once.
For families with mobility challenges please email Jackie Merrill at jmerrill@vashonsd.org for accommodations.
Stadium will open at 5:30pm and seating is on a first come/first serve basis. There will be a reception in the courtyard and lunchroom immediately after the ceremony for photos and farewells. Students will be able to pick up their diplomas in the Great Hall after the ceremony.

June 10 - Graduation Night Celebration
8:30 pm - 6:00 am
A parent committee is planning a fun night of safe celebrations for seniors after graduation.
The event begins at 8:30pm just after the graduation ceremony from VHS. Graduates will be transported in buses to a secret venue for the festivities. The party will end at approximately 6am with a return trip to the high school (or Fauntleroy or the Vashon dock as indicated on the registration form) where seniors will be picked up by parents. If your student hasn't registered for this event yet, there are still spaces left. The cost per senior is $50. You can register your student at https://safegradnight.org/. For those that have registered their students, thank you and more details will be coming out in the next few weeks.
Please reach out to vsgn2023@gmail.com with any questions, concerns or requests or if you know a non-senior parent that wants to help chaperone.

Official Diplomas
Diplomas will be distributed after graduation in the Great Hall. Any students with outstanding fines or who have grades pending from Running Start will not be issued their diplomas until those details are taken care of.
Official Transcripts
All four-year colleges require an end of the year official transcript. Two-year colleges/tech schools do not require an official transcript. Transcripts will need to be ordered through Parchment. The only exception to this is students who used the Common App and are attending that Common App school. Transcripts will be sent once all final grades are posted. Running Start student’s transcripts will be sent once grades have been received from the colleges. Please contact Ms. Franson dfranson@vashonsd.org or your counselor with questions.
Email Addresses
Students should change any accounts that use their school email to a personal email since your school email will no longer be valid one year after graduation.
